This wedding will always have a special place in our hearts and why wouldn’t it?
Kate and Ryan’s wedding was featured in Southern Utah Bride Magazine’s 2015 issue.
You might recognize them because they happen to be on the cover!
We couldn’t be more excited to be sharing this gorgeous real wedding and all of its perfect personal touches.
When talking about their wedding vision Kate and Ryan shared that they would like to have their ceremony and reception in the beauty of Zion National Park.
The Center for True North is a bit of a hidden gem and therefore was an obvious pick for this couple.
To compliment their nontraditional theme the bride, Kate, searched religiously until she found THE dress. A search around the world and five alterations later, Kate had her dream dress and boy was it more than worth all of that effort! See for yourself…
Kate looked absolutely stunning in her grey wedding dress and we are thrilled she didn’t settle for anything less than what she had always dreamed of!
As Kate finished adding the final touches to her look, we knew the groom’s jaw would drop for sure at the sight of this grey dressed beauty.
Although Kate and Ryan decided not to have bridesmaids and groomsmen, they had the best of people at their side every step of the way.
If you were wondering, yes Kate paired her grey dress with impossibly adorable red shoes.
Kate and Ryan expressed that since their wedding was in a remote field, they wanted everyone to arrive there together. They wanted the location to be a surprise that everyone saw at the same time, and they wanted to walk together to really get people in the mood of Zion National Park.
They loved that everyone walked through sage brush and field grass, and were surrounded by red rocks, sunshine, and a cloudy blue sky.
Who better to capture all of this than Tyler Rye Photography?
Everyone important to them was present, including this cute little pooch!
Before they led the wedding parade to the meadow, a first look was in order.
Our suspicions were correct and the groom was blown away by the bride!
The couple wrote their own ceremony. They wanted a simple script that focused on love, happiness, friends, family, the beautiful surroundings, and that is exactly what they got.
Joining hands the couple started the rest of their lives together.
Kate and Ryan danced their way back down their desert aisle and to their outdoor reception!
Time to toast the happy newly weds, and what better way than with vintage colored glasses for each of the guests to use throughout the evening?
Throwing an outdoor reception in the middle of Zion may seem tricky but with Forevermore Events the couple just had to sit back and relax as we checked off the necessary items.
Generators check, lights check, dance floor check, catering tent check, porta potties check, table and chairs check. Everything they wanted check, check, check!
The dinosaurs once again roamed Southern Utah, joining our other favorite golden animals.
Add lush succulents and paper place mats and this look is complete!
Moving to their cake…it was made by Kim and Jakes Cakes in Boulder Colorado.
By the look of it, you would never know it was actually gluten-free!
Top it with the cutest squirrel couple and it completely captures Kate and Ryan’s fun personalities and how they perfectly mesh.
All in all, this wedding was breathtaking and we loved that Kate and Ryan become our friends through the process.
