STEP ONE: PICK A DATE
When you’re initially envisioning your day, planning a rough idea of your wedding date and the season are extremally helpful. Certain venues have seasonal restrictions or may be more affordable during off-peak times. For example, the wedding venue above does not offer winter wedding bookings. Once you have this planned. you can start reaching out to venues!
STEP TWO: LOCATION
Once you have selected a date + season, it’s time to decide where you’d like to host your wedding! Many of our Forevermore couples host their destination weddings in and around Zion National Park! There are many bonuses to hosting your wedding here. You’re surrounded by stunning views + hikes to entertain your guests throughout the wedding weekend. There are multiple methods of travel available; two airports, shuttle services, rentals, etc. Consider the convenience, cost, accessibility, and other accommodations available.
STEP 3: SCHEDULE VENUE VISITS
Schedule visits to multiple venues to get a feel for the space and its ambiance. Take note of the overall condition, cleanliness, and maintenance of the venue. Be aware of any set up fees, hidden costs, alcohol restrictions, etc. Be prepared with a list of questions to ask and be sure to jot down the answers. I also recommend asking about weather back up plans, if there are tents available, etc.
STEP FOUR: VET THE VENUE
If you do not have a wedding planner, this step is going to be crucial. Scour their review pages, ask past couples about their experience, make an informed decision on if this is the place for you. You can check The Knot, Google Reviews, Facebook groups, etc. Be sure to not skip this step.
STEP FIVE: CONTRACTS
Read through their contract thoroughly. Put extra focus on payment schedules, cancellation policies, hidden or additional fees, insurance requirements for vendors or for yourself, guest count fees, damages policies, restrictions, etc.
STEP SIX: LOVE THE PROCESS
At the end of the day, trust your instincts. If something feels off, you’ll know. Be educated and aware, but also enjoy this process. You’re selecting the place that your love will be united forever. This is exciting, let yourself be encompassed in the joy!
